Sofia Adriana Portugal, Susana Quaresma and Tânia Cardoso share a taste for vocal, sound and scenic research. These three women shape songs and ancient knowledge in a contemporary way, through polyphonic singing and percussion rhythms. They sing the repertoire of the Lusophone songbook, but also original compositions that accentuate the strength of words and poetry. “Mondar” is to clean, pluck weeds, leaving the essential for everything to flourish, and for Maria Monda the essence is in the weave of voices, whether in soft silks or in rough blankets, singing in honor of Mother Earth, named Maria.
